Overview

Keith demonstrated an appliance-repair cost calculator with affiliate links, built using ChatGPT and added to a local content engine site.

Calculator Design

  • The pop-up compares a repair estimate with replacement costs, using the appliance type, age, and estimated repair price entered by the visitor.
  • It presents a repair request option and an “Explore replacements” option. The replacement comparison can help visitors weigh repair cost against a new or refurbished appliance and its warranty.
  • The calculator currently covers washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, ovens and ranges, and other appliances; it can be adapted to show only relevant options on a specific appliance page.

Site Integration

  • Keith added the calculator to a GE appliance repair page and copied it to the homepage. The page content was generated from keywords using LLMs.
  • The calculator uses HTML, JavaScript, and CSS. Its styles and script are in the site footer, and its page-specific markup can be copied to other pages.
  • The repair request form does not appear to be using the correct phone-number field: it references Xreal_phone_number on a local content engine site. How should the field be configured to route requests through Lead Simplify to the intended contractor?

Affiliate Links

  • The current replacement link points to Amazon US and was tested through a US VPN because Keith is using Amazon UK.
  • Keith plans to explore an affiliate arrangement with GE Appliances, which could link visitors directly to product categories such as top-freezer refrigerators. Has he signed up for the GE affiliate programme?
